I wear this under pencil skirts and knee length dresses and overall I am pleased. The lace bottom lays well. I found myself pulling this down off and on a little here and there but overall, I liked this so much I bought an extra slip in the cream color (have both colors now). I wear a 16w and found that the large gave me good support. I have an XL as well - its not bad but I prefer the smaller size because of support. I did not know if this was going to be extra restricting and I like to breath in my clothes! I am 34F, 30"waist, 40" hips, 5'7", 155 with some extra skin (: and I ordered a LARGE. At first when I put it on I was unsure. It looks and fits EXACTLY like the picture- I do not LOOK like the model, but as you can see it gets very closed in around the knee area. I could probably walk 12" at a time wearing this at the knees. Saying that- this is not a firming chemise- this is smoothing. I own their thigh smoothing panties and these are in the same realm as firmness. They GLIDE on and SMOOTH everything out, without sucking it in. The bust on this shapewear is tight on me, but the rest is fine. It is long enough, but I would NEVER wear this without a bra under it, which kind of just adds more bulk. I was really looking for shapewear that was all in one. I then ordered the Nancy Ganz Bodyslimmer Body Slip. That worked better for me.
