It's not powered like a standard DC motor. You can't simply supply power to it directly from a battery or other power source. It needs to be controlled with a very specific signal. Servos typically require a 50Hz signal with a pulse width ranging from 1ms to 2ms and a voltage of 4.8-6VDC. The width of the pulse determines how far the servo rotates.For example, this servo rotates to it's neutral position (90) when supplied a 1.5ms pulse width. A 1ms pw will rotate it to it's minimum position (0) and a 2ms pw will rotate it to it's maximum (180). Unlike a standard motor, a servo requires constant power to maintain it's position. If you disrupt the power to the servo, whatever it's holding may cause the servo to rotate out of position. You can build your own circuit to drive a servo, or you can use one of hundreds of servo controllers available from Amazon and other suppliers. **Q: Can I hook up this servo to a gyro for my 450 helicopter?** A: Gryo servos are typically have a much faster transit time than a standard servo.
