It's a gentle soap.Directions call for a 1 part soap to 15 parts water. I found this to foam well but is a bit thin for me. I increased it to 2 parts soap to 14 parts water. The foam becomes a little less structured but the concentration of soapiness is better for me. At this rate, I will be able to make 2 gallons of the solution instead of 4. There are definitely better-priced options out there like liquid Castille soaps or other, harsher soaps. I wish the price was better, which is why I am not giving it 5 stars. It breaks down to $25 per gallon.I mixed it with distilled water, as directed, and I have hard water at about 450 ppm. If I had softened water, it might be fine at the original 1:15 concentration.I also use the concentrate by itself as shampoo.
