I have used my chef's knife to chop/mince herbs and food and then scooped it up to put in pots for many years. This scraper makes the task a hundred times better. I always scrape my boards to clean them, then mild soap, water and wipe clean. Transferring chopped/minced herbs and food is a breeze. The handle is large and easy to hold even when your hands are oily from meats. I am not into baking, so I can't comment on it use for that, but for everything else, it is a perfect tool. The reason I chose this over other similar items is the handle and the stamped measurements. I did not want the measurements able to be scraped off. They are permanently stamped into the metal. The steel is pretty thick so I wouldn't think that could happen too easily, but it did. I more or less straightened it out. Also the blade is not at all sharp so chopping veggies does not work. I wanted it as a scraper more than a chopper, so that doesn't really concern me.the handle is fairly thick so it is easy to grip. However, due to the thickness of the handle, I find that I am limited on what I can use this scraper for. One thing I wanted to use it for was cutting my freshly made cold-process soap loaves. Dimensions in the description say "6 inches x 4.3 inches" but the height of the working blade (less the handle) is 3 1/4 inches, so I can't cut a 3.5 or 4 inch bar of soap with this tool.
