The key is substantial, but not heavy around the neck. I think the key is awesome. I love the ways it's made and especially the way it looks. You can wear it with anything. I also think any age group can wear this. I was afraid it might look ridiculous on me (in my40's) , but it looks cute, cool radical, wickid, awesome; whatever you want to call it. Just buy it! You also get a chain that matches the metal of the key and a dark brown leather necklace that is very strong, soft to the touch and adjustable (just tiin a knot).
