Both qualified for free shipping. Both arrived in one larger box along with other items that I had ordered through Amazon. Both contained exactly 72 slides that were 25.4 mm x 75.3 mm (exactly 1” x slightly less than 3”), and 1.04 to 1.08 mm thick (the Seoh slides were slightly thinner). None were broken or cracked, and all appeared to be of high quality, with flat surfaces and straight, ground edges that were not sharp. The Karter slides were not clean, and sometimes stuck together; they needed to be rinsed with water before use. The Seoh slides were interleaved with paper and were cleaner; they could probably be used as-is for some applications, but they also benefited from a water rinse. The Karter slides (presumably made in Louisiana) cost $5.99; the Seoh slides (made in China) cost $4.99. Overall, the Seoh slides had a slight edge in quality and a better price, but both cost a tenth of what scientific suppliers charge, so both were excellent values.UPDATE: I bought two more boxes of the SEOH slides in October of 2016. Compared to the original cardboard box (bought in March of 2016), the new boxes were identical except for being slightly whiter in color. (All of the writing on these boxes was identical.) Inside, the glass slides were again nicely interleaved with tissue paper, but this time many (not all) of the slides had visible minor scratches. The quality of the glass surface was thus inferior to that in the original box. The new slides all had beveled corners: Instead of a 90 degree angle at each of the four corners, there were two 45 degree angles a millimeter or two apart, which made the slides somewhat more comfortable to hold. Thus, the manufacturing process was evidently different for the original and newer purchases, with a minor improvement in the corners of the newer batch, but a decline in glass surface quality, although the scratches were generally not deep or abundant enough to make much difference in the usage of the slides for routine microscopy. Still a good value, but disappointing inconsistency in this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Screwball's Seal of Approval *by N***L on Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2016* Both the slides and the cover slips by the same company are remarkably durable. I have empirical proof.I was using the microscope extensively for several days. i have it set up in my guest area. Slides and slips can be reused again and again--just wash and sterilize them. Anyway, when my project was completed I retrieved a big bowl from the kitchen and filled it with soapy water. I put all the slides and coverslips I'd used in the bowl, and they slipped under the soap bubbles. By the time I entered the guest area again, I'd forgotten why I'd left a bowl of water (no suds by then) in the guest bathroom, so I emptied it in the toilet. When I heard the clank-clank-clank, I remembered that the bowl was not empty, and I knew what I'd done. I retrieved the slides and cover slips (I will not take questions on this detail.) Not one of the slides or cover slips was damaged. Though they look delicate, these slides and slips are built to last, and I'll always buy from this company. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not even one chip or break. Great price. *by P***U on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2013* These were exactly what I wanted to for making memory glass pendants. I personally refuse to spend almost 50 cents a piece of glass buying official memory glass and bought these instead. They are perfect for what I want them for and dramatically more affordable.Also, my slides arrived in perfect condition, not even a chip. But I then later picked them up stupidly by the lid that just slides off and dropped then entire box like a moron, all of the slides going everywhere on the floor. Overall, only 4 broke and several got some tiny sliver nicks along the edges, which is no big deal. So, I'd say they survived a solid dropping very well. The sound was horrifying as well.
