- This sale is for all charred 100% natural and organic, heartwood (center) American White Oak.
- The wood was put in a commercial kitchen oven for 4 hrs at 350 degrees, then charred under a commercial kitchen broiler.
- Hand cut by manual saw and hatchet. No gas chain saw or gear oiled blades. Suitable wood for human consumption.
- I've been an Executive Chef in a large restaurant for 18 years, and I am Serve-safe certified in food and beverage handling and sanitation, so you know your wood was handled professionally.
- I harvested this wood myself, so you know that its not red oak, Pin oak, or other unfavorable species of oak.

This is a great but l buy but be warned very strong I put 2 sticks in a 5 gallon batch of dry red wine I'm allowing to bulk age and over oaked it one week was perfect it offered a great sweetness and I had bits of vanilla caramel sweet grapes and and other wanderful flavors so all in all great purchase would definitely order again which I will do it was my fault on it over oaking my wine but I'm aging another 5 gallon of the exact same wine so I'll just blend them together and proceed so since it's my fault and not the products 5 outta 5 stars just pay very close attention and I'd suggest taking the wood out after only 1 well if you use 2 pieces altho I suggest only using 1 for 5 gallons and even then pay close attention

Ignore the negative feedback. In less than two weeks I’m seeing a definite change in odor and a nice caramel color is forming. Obviously you will need to filter the product after this process. The negative reviews show a complete lack of understanding how this product is supposed to work. Do some research please before you complain because this stuff does the job.

Cut these into smaller pieces so they would fit in mason jars. Half a stick changed “ white shine” into a dark whiskey in just a week. I did wash off the loose spot before adding to mason jar. Will still need to filter if ya don’t want to drink some ash. I didn’t. Made the shine way more sipable.
