So many are now thin and essentially just zippered cases. I wanted ones that were soft, thick and cushy (quilted). These seemed to be like what I was looking for, so I went ahead and ordered them and I can honestly say, they are better than I had anticipated! Super thick and will definitely add more plushness to our pillows. I can't speak on their waterproof ability as I haven't tested or checked for that, but I'm not worried about that anyway.
