The biggest problem is that all the heat is concentrated in one spot, about an inch in diameter, located at 3:00 (if this were a clock, and the cord is attached at 12:00). This spot is so hot that it burns a patch on the bottom of a bowl of oatmeal or soup. Also, the glass surface doesn’t go all the way to the edge, so it’s not that easy to clean - there’s a little gap between the glass and the border, in which gunk accumulates, so you have to clean it with a toothpick. Finally, the lettering on the surface of the glass is deteriorating. The paint is smearing, but can’t just be wiped off. This has been a very frustrating purchase. I’m going to go back to using the old-fashioned kind of mug warmer, with heating coil. They’re ugly and hard to clean, but at least they keep your drinks really hot. ### ⭐⭐ Really nice but switch does not work. *by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019* Excellent design and well executed BUT the on/off/temp switch does not respond when pressed. Unit turned itself on when not touched at all. Multiple presses needed to turn it off. When on it went from red to blue by itself and then turned off. Erratic behavior. I had a catastrophe with a melted candle!
