Fabric is thick, soft & very warm (not like the think sweaters)2. The velcro closure. You never quite realize how awesome this is in a jacket until you have one. Otherwise, the zipper often creeps up to practically pinching your lil one and you have to keep unzipping to prevent this BUT you don't want to their chest to get cold. It’s warm, thick fleece that will lady is through a southern winter easily. The jacket may be warm enough for colder climates as well.I ordered an 18 month which is generously sized for my 1 year old. I am able to cuff the sleeves though and prefer to order bigger to give room to grow. The Velcro closure works well to give room to grow and is easy to get on and off.Baby likes it too and will even keep the hood on which is impressive.
