I tried again with a small butane torch that can apply heat in a very small area and I had the same results - the heat shrink melted and failed before the solder could join the wires. While I cannot recommend the product, the support was outstanding and they have offered a full refund. Because of this, I would shop with this seller again for a different product. Updated review to 3 stars for customer service ONLY.Original:They do not melt at 140⁰. I had to use a heat gun to get the solder to melt and then the heat shrink failed and all the liquid solder came pouring out. Worse than just a butt solder joint and regular heat shrink - which is what I ended up doing. Those might work with a small butane torch for a smaller heat source but i only had a blow dryer and a heat gun at my disposal. If it wasn't a consumable, I would return it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Neat product, solder takes more time to melt than expected. *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2019* Very excited to try these. I used a heat gun and was worried I was going to burn the heat shrink because it does take more time than I expected for the solder to melt. But once it did, the connection seems great. I next tried a small butane torch and really had to work hard at getting the solder to melt - I think the torch was too directional heating in a small area not large enough to melt the solder. I was afraid I was going to burn the heat shrink, so I stopped with the torch and finished with the heat gun.
