The only downside is that they cost more than the lasers that they hold--but this is the third year that I have used them, so I really can't complain about the price (which has come down after I purchased the first ones). The ring at the top was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but that was my fault, so I swapped out a flashlight clamp for it and it’s perfect.
