You can stick them to the wall however you want, you don't have to do them as pictured. Ours actually came with another baby whale that's not pictured, so we have a mama and two baby whales on our wall.These are sticking to the wall great and haven't bubbled or started to peel off like the Toy Story stickers I bought for my older son's room.
