## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the difference between this and the Prima version?**
A: In addition to the answer to this question provided by the Cook'sStore, I can tell you this. The Prima has a domed stainless steel lid, while the Gourmet's lid is flat. While the Prima has an "easy-pour" edge with a pronounced flare, the edge of the Gourmet is slightly flared which should still make pouring easy. Also the dimensions are different. The Prima is shorter and wider than the Gourmet. I needed a pot that would fit inside my cooler. The dimensions provided by Amazon for both pots don't indicate which dimension is height and which is width so I wasn't sure which pot to buy. I assumed the Prima was higher quality because it is heavier and cost $30 more than the Gourmet. So I bought it but it doesn't fit inside my cooler. I ended up calling Tramontina in Texas and they said they were both of the same quality, and that the Gourmet is less expensive and lighter because its dimensions don't require as much steel to make. So I bought that one, and it does fit in my cooler. While there are a few cosmetic differences between the two pots (e.g., lid and handle designs, exterior finish) the quality does appear to be comparable. Here are the detailed dimensions for both of them:The "Prima" has a domed lid, a wide easy-pour lip and a high quality 1/2" thick Tri-ply bottom. Its dimensions are:Exterior Height: 7 7/8" w/o lid; 9 3/4" w/ lid on (7 7/8" when the lid is stored in the pot upside down)Exterior width: 12 1/4" edge to edge excluding handles; 15 1/4" including handlesInterior height: 7 3/8"Interior width: 11"The "Gourmet" has a flat lid, a narrower easy-pour lip, and the same high quality 1/2" thick Tri-ply bottom. Its dimensions are:Exterior Height: 9 1/4" w/o lid; 10 1/2" w/ lid on (9 1/4" when the lid is stored on the pot upside down)Exterior width: 10 3/4" edge to edge excluding handles; 14 1/4" including handlesInterior height: 8 3/4"Interior width: 10 1/4"

**Q: How com dmensions of so many things on amazon are almost worthless, without describing which direction the number stand for, ie length, width, height.**
A: That is a good question. The height of this pot is 12" without the lid. Width and length would be the same - 13" - as it is a round pot :) unless you want the measurement of the handles, which is 17".....this is a great pot, you'll be very happy with it, very heavy weight.

**Q: How tall/high is this pot? I am concerned about the space I will have been my burner and the fan above it. Thanks.**
A: I measure 9 1/4 inches from the counter top (base of the pot) to the top rim, plus allow roughly one additional inch for the lid handle when the lid is in place on top of the pot. The handle is about 1 3/8 inches higher than the lid itself, but the lid sits recessed about 3/8 inch into the pot when it is in place.

**Q: How thick is the disk bottom?**
A: The Tri-Ply Base is approximately half of an inch in thickness, and is optimum for heat-conductivity, making the stockpot compatible with gas, electric, ceramic glass and induction cooktops.
