I think a cookie recipe should be included, it would be easier to know if the design depth was affected by my recipe or the rolling pin. It was difficult to see the imprints on the two recipes I used. I used a short bread and spritz cookie recipe, both do not use any leavening and they both hold shapes nicely. But as I said, they did not look like the cookies as illustrated online. What would have been helpful would have been guidelines on the best way to prepare the surface. I floured it and used my traditional sugar cookie recipe and the dough still stuck to the rolling pins surface. As for the pattern on the roller, it is lovely to look at, but not easy to transfer to the dough. If you press too hard, dough gets stuck in the pattern; if you don't press hard enough, then the pattern is so faint, it disappears during the baking process as the dough puffs up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great stocking stuffer gift! *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018* I got this cute rolling pin for my mother-in-law, who makes Christmas cookies every year. The design goes evenly around the rolling pin and seems to be engraved pretty deeply. I tried to get a good picture to show the depth. I'm assuming you would have to use dough that doesn't flatten to get a good print. The little cookie cutters that come with it are small but would work fine if you don't have any other cutters. I'll update with a picture of the cookies once my MIL bakes some. It would make a great stocking stuffer for a person that seems to have everything or that you can never figure out what to get them.
