The clay is easy to use, however I recommend using quite a bit of pressure to get a noticeable print. I ha to redo the imprint a few times firstly because my dog does not like having his paws touched and because the print was as prominent as I wanted. I ended up rolling a piece of the clay and using a cup to cut out the hole since his paws are small. Make sure is it laying completely flat when drying as mine is a bit warped (my fault). Would probably be good to let it rest on parchment paper so it doesn't accidentally stick to a surface.
