It is a soft wood so you'll have to be careful not to dent/scratch it. But at least it's not MDF or particle board. Easy to assemble. Leaf storage within table is nice, but it's really hard to separate the halves when you want to extend and use the leaf (I am not strong enough by myself. Requires one person on each end pulling quite hardly). Possibly the holes should be made a hair bigger so the dowels don't fit so snuggly. Considering there are latches to hold it in place there's no need for it to be so snug.Also, make sure your chairs will fit. If you want to seat 6 people you'll have to have narrow enough chairs.
