This is just the repair kit ie battery and button replacement. It uses the original board but does require soldering skills. If the PCB is dead or has been without power for sometime it may need replacement. Reprogramming can be DIY see YouTube for instructional video. Replacement key sets are available but again will need re-programing. **Q: how do you open case** A: Use a knife to prise the joint open, I know it seems like you’re going to break the original Land Rover one but that’s how we did it, the replacement fob seems much easier. Take out the circuit board and melt the solder connecting the battery and re solder the new battery in place before fixing it into the new key fob and hey presto. I was quite apprehensive but it worked out fine. **Q: Would this be ok for a landrover freelander 2 2011 model** A: I used it for a 2009 FL2. My understanding is that it is for the type that re-charges in the docking station rather than the later type with a replaceable battery - not sure what you would have at 2011?
