They're richer, APC, the texture, the tapestry, they're prettier, sweeter, darker, after eights dark, night, twilight, midnight, midnight sun, moon, stars, old flames, romances, castle walls, dragons, dragons slayed, I'm no D&D nerd, hey leave the nerds alone, no valiant sir, oh that explains it with the nerd comment, you nerds are fine, I'm a geek, there is a difference, but the dragons are slayed, the heat is leaving them, their bulkin' great mass, the hot air snorts have ceased, cold sets in for them, not for us, but not for us, for tonight my love, tonight, my love, buttons popped, corks shot, in the face of something from out of this world, something malevolent, or something not understood, a threat, a threat to us, risks tearing everything apart, what it is I can't say, can you? put it into words, put a kiss, seal it up, address it or bury it, but let's have this one night together first, is that so much to ask? I've no idea how I discovered A Perfect Circle, where I would have heard a song of theirs, whether in a film soundtrack or just around, but from the looks of it, seemingly, I discovered them before TOOL because I bought this months before I bought a TOOL album in 10,000 Days. It might be that I looked into Troy Van Leeuwen's other projects, knowing him at that point as a guitarist in Queens of the Stone Age, and this he still is, and that would make a lot of sense, because the thing I do remember is watching a video of him giving a guitar lesson and I remember being enthralled by the sound of 'Blue', the riff... The rest sounds great but that one really got me, gave me, chills, shivers...! Uh, not only did he not play that riff in the video, now that I've just got done watching it again, but he looks fckin' high. Oh well, mandela effect. He was straight, now he's drugged. He taught the riff to 'Blue' and now he doesn't. It's a Mer De Noms era guitar lesson so I dunno. There was '3 Libras' and 'The Outsider' though, or just the former, which I did latch on to, those two, downloading them, carrying them around with me on a digital music player. It's a good album, I love the tone of it, as I have intimated and tried to express in this instance, and not another instance tomorrow, next week, next month or next life, in my own unconventional and probably incorrect way. I do prefer Thirteenth Step, it affects me more, even if I never got around to owning it, I did try, I think, but it never showed up in the post, got a letter from the postman in exchange, saying thanks for the CD, that it hadn't left his stereo since borrowing it from me, since liftin' it, but hey, good luck to him, hope it was worth it, happy playing, still I've enjoyed it for myself with access to the internet, a mine to plumb, lead or gold, and I can't fault any of the songs on either of 'em. A perfect selection of music by A Perfect Circle ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ancient Rock with emotional beauty...Vinyl *by D***C on 13 January 2014* The best vinyl I will possibly will ever buy. I'm sure many other reviewers have nailed mer der noms so I'm focusing on the vinyl version only. The warmth you get from vinyl on this album is special. The depth of vocals you can hear is surprising. The extra frequencies make the guitars sound almost sensual. I really can't emphasis how soul cleansing the experience was. It reminded me of how music could be heard instead of how took for granted it has become. I'm a fan as you may of well guessed. The extended track is incredible, it really ties the song together. It reminds me of listening to the extended version of The Cures 'forest' for the first time. The packaging is spot on, larger prints of original cd graphics. The only negative thing I would say is the sides aren't clearly indicated. It shows what is on each disk just not what side.
