Don't waste your time as I did, and instead invest time in looking around who can duplicate the mechanical key blanks. Another, tip: Leave the "VW" logo sticker to the very end AFTER the new blanks are cut and verified that they open doors and turn on the ignition properly. THEN you can affix the logo signaling that you're done.And for the very nitpickers, the OEM key stalk can be pulled out from the swing mechanism by removing a wristwatch-like pin, BUT the new key blanks are affixed permanently (the new pin is a non-functional fake), so they cannot be simply pulled out and swapped over.
