It is somewhat uncomfortable to make any manual adjustments with this on your camera as it tends to get in the way. It does give you access to your camera's hot shoe mount as well as offering an additional one so that's nice. And the build is quite sturdy, nothing I would be concerned about. I would consider rating it higher but...THE 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 HOLES ARE NOT UNIVERSALLY SPACED! You may be able to finagle the majority of your attachments to connect but as soon as you need two screws for one piece of hardware you may be out of luck depending on where you want to put it.
