ReliOn 60 Second Digital Thermometer

bought one for my parents and myself.

I bought this at Walmart a couple of years ago. I always thought my body temp just ran low. Today I took it before I went to the dr. It was 97.6. About an hour later I was sitting in the doctors office where she tells me I have a fever and I need antibiotics immediately. What the heck!! It must be at least off by 2 degrees.As I write this, I am laying in bed, I feel very achy and hot. My ears are on fire. I just took my temp on this thermometer. 99.3. Yeah right! Now I know it must be at least 101.3. Oh Lordy.I ordered an ear thermometer from amazon today. Thank god it’s coming tomorrow.

I bought this at a big box store on the recommendation of a leading consumer publication. It was a good value and appears to be reasonably accurate but, to second another reviewer's critique, it has sound problems. When I first got it, it performed as described --- turn it on, it beeped once; take your temperature, it gave a series of clearly audible beeps when ready with the reading. Now, it's very erratic: Sometimes beeps when turned on, sometimes not; sometimes beeps when done, sometimes not; sometimes the beeps are so faint as to be almost inaudible, other times, they're loud and clear. Have to treat it like my old mercury thermometer...stick it in, wait a minute or so and look at the results. Not a big deal but it makes you wonder how long it's going to last.

I can't comment on the accuracy, because I didn't have another thermometer to check. I can say I bought it because I sure felt like I had a fever, but it read 98.6. However, I just pulled it out again (a month later) and it doesn't turn on. The battery compartment is completely corroded; I couldn't put a new battery in even if I wanted to. This thing is trash.

It is not accurate. Every morning I have to measure temperature under my arm (to monitor thyroid function) and have to have accurate results. From the first time I tried it I knew it was not accurate. Sure enough, after checking it with traditional mercury thermometer it had almost 1 degree in difference. Not good! Terrible.I did not buy it on amazon but thought I will let everyone know.

I am not one to leave reviews unless a product is absolutely amazing or horribly crappy. This is a very crappy thermometer. I bought it at Walmart TWO days ago but leaving a review here. My experience is that I have bronchitis and wanted to monitor my temperature. Firstly, it wasn't to accurate with the readings. I kind of overlooked that. Then, this morning, the battery is already low. Save your money and look for a much better thermometer!

Not reliable enough for the price and purpose. Kids both have the flu and I check their temp sublingually and doesn't seem to read anything over 98. Used a different thermometer my mom had and they are both running 102.6* . If you have the money and you care about health invest higher.

I've had this thermometer for almost a year and it's worked fine. It is a cheap thermometer so you get what you pay for and there is a risk of getting a nonfunctioning thermometer, however it's been functional for me. I don't have another thermometer to compare it to but it almost always reads 98.6 when I'm feeling normal (sometimes dips into the 97's which is also normal for me) and today I woke up feeling like a truck hit me and sure enough I had a temperature of 101.5. The readings are dipping accurately whenever I start to feel better and take my temp again, and rising when I start to feel worse so I'm going to say it works.
