There is 2 slots on each side of the handle about 6 inches long. I'd say yes on a smaller project. Scarves and things. **Q: Where was this made?** A: I'm not sure I have a different variety of this an I wasn't thrilled with it mine didn't stand up properly especially the dividers **Q: Can this fabric be washed?** A: Yes it can be machine washed **Q: Is the four way divider removable to fit large projects?** A: Yes, the divider is kept in place with Velcro. Keep in mind, Velcro can damage yarn stored in the bag. However in my search for a yarn caddy, I mistakenly ordered the one that has Velcro which is used to secure dividers. Velcro damages yarn. Since I do like the look so much I will work around it.
