Review: Absolutely Amazing For Welding Exhaust - I don't write reviews often but I was so blown away by these electrodes that I felt I had to. I can't be the only person trying to do exhaust work with a stick welder and let me tell you it's no easy chore. Yes I've been told by every source imaginable that mig is the go to for exhaust work. However with these electrodes makes it way more practical if you don't have a mig welder and works almost as well. Occasionally it will stick to the pipe you're welding, it's a very delicate process but once you get it going it works surprisingly well. Because the arc is so small you can't do it from a distance, get your head as close as possible. The electrodes are very thin and bend easily, I use two hands with gloves of course. One hand on the holder and the other about middle of the electrode and literally use it like a pencil drawing a bead very delicately. I never thought I could do it without risk of burning a hole in the material but these make it possible. Yes of course they can still burn a hole but as long you keep at a steady pace your good. There's no amperage spec on these but based on others of the same size were rated for I think 20 to 40. I did my exhaust work at or around 30 and though it stuck a few times but if I used it very precisely I could get a nice bead going. Having a welder with a digital meter helps so you can dial in the exact amperage for the material. Mig is still the best choice for exhaust but still was blown away by the performance of these with a stick welder. I genuinely thought you could never do it right with stick or that the welder would even work below 60 amps but I stand corrected and amazed. It can be done but takes high concentration and precision. Yes you could with the right welder, the right conditions, the right skill, and carbon steel (coating likely) exhaust pipe. This does make it possible with a stick welder if you can set it low enough amperage to make the magic happen. When I tried these a couple years ago on an old buzz box I was not impressed... but the lowest that machine went was 40amps and that is the higher end of what these run on AC. When on a DC inverter machine you can play around at 20-25amps and probably get along good joining pieces that are well fit and possibly have been sleeved one over the other. Hope this helps kinda put stuff in context. **Q: Could I use these in the place of titanium solder picks?** A: Don't think so.
