My husband wears them in construction during the summer months. He is on his second pair, he liked the first ones so well. They lasted a long time. That being said they keep the elements out pretty well I didn't wear them in rain but there was a lot of dew and frost on the grind and the boots managed and dried well. They are kind of heavy for hiking boots though and I'm not sure if this is due to sizing but the neck of the boots hurt the upper part of my ankles.
