It is a tank, very stable, the heavy movable counter weight makes it breeze to use with the heaviest microphone you can imagine and have it stay where you want it.. You could probably mount a medium size camera from it as well. My only complaint is the single mounting system. I had to buy and adapter to mount my small Rode directional mike. The tubing expands considerably which enables the stand to be used where smaller booms would not be large enough. It was a choice between this stand and a less expensive stand and I think the extra money was worth it. If you are very small, this might be a bit difficult to horse around. Depending if you put it on the main column, the clamping screws need to be long enough - it's a fairly large dia. or I think it could hold one using the main boom section. I have my screen mounded on a heavy duty atlas with no trouble. I also have this stand and it would work just as well.
