On the iphone go to settings - Bluetooth. When I did that there were no devices in my Bluetooth. Then press and hold the selfie's remote button for 3 seconds. "XIONG TU" then appeared as a Bluetooth device with "Not Connected". I highlighted "XIONG TU" and the word "Pair" appeared in the Bluetooth settings. I pressed "Pair" and "XIONG TU" showed as "connected". This "Pairing" is a one time thing. Then all you have to do is open your iphone camera. When "XIONG TU" shows as "Connected" in Bluetooth, the button on the selfie remote will take a picture or start a video etc. If you are taking a video, pressing it a second time will stop the recording. "XIONG TU" is now always in my Bluetooth device list. But the remote shuts off after 90 seconds of no use and it will appear as "Not Connected" in the Bluetooth settings. This saves the battery. So when using this, be sure to have your Bluetooth settings open so you can see the connection status. Pressing the remote button for 3 seconds connects it again. **Q: Is this compatible with iPhone XR?** A: Works perfectly on my IPhone XR **Q: Can I record videos?** A: How do you record videos? Initially I bought this for taking selfies but realized that it’s great to read and see on the phone while it’s on the selfie stick. I put my phone in this selfie stick and carry it around. I only take my phone apart when going out and carry the selfie stick separately. I use my phone to track the time and various activities during the day and take notes about the daily activities. This one helps me just to stay on top of that like when I'm working, having lunch, dinner or doing any other activity. I just lay this with the screen on when I'm reading or watching on phone. This is light weight with good grip and phone can be turned at different angles and directions easily. I probably order like two or three at a time and if it breaks I always have another one handy. When traveling I carry it in the box that it comes in because it's so fragile. I use it so carefully but this helped me a lot in the past few years I can say.
