This product is saltier than I care for, but it's a simple matter to put the roe in a strainer and rinse it under cold water. Not a great choice for classic caviar canapes, but good enough for folding into yogurt or sour cream for a dip, or adding to eggs or other dishes that will absorb the saltiness. Try with sushi and sashimi, whipped, baked, or roast potatoes, or to dress up an avocado salad. Fresh lemon or lime juice also refreshes the preserved taste that can develop. Roe/caviar should smell like the ocean, not like fish. I have used this brand for decades, and the quality is consistent.
