The "documentation package" (docpac) provided by the company is basically not useful. This docpac doesn't come with the board, the user has to request it by email. The docpac is not english but mostly I think it is chinese language. A programming executable is provided to interface the board's ISP port, but maybe useful only if you have Insignia's programming tool, and if you understand chinese. If you can program the 8051 CPU with a programming tool of your own then you'll be better off that way. A pdf file is also provided with a few rudimentary schematic captures which not fully depict the board circuitry neither the actual values of the components soldered to the board I purchased. So basically, the user will be better off coming up with your own schematics by reverse-engineering the board which is only two layers (top and bottom), and getting the components' datasheets from the internet. So, if you buy an Insignia Labs board, I would say don't bother going back to the company for anything else. I highly recommend using the internet resources for complementing your hardware and software knowledge about the board. Also, be aware that you have to complete the LCD, and the LEDs interfaces to the 8051 CPU ports on your own, these are not connected at all.
