I had a succession of highs and crashes, which resulted in my wanting to understand Bipolar Disorder more. I was not even sure which Bipolar Disorder Type I was, either. This book quite literally opened my eyes and mind. It was superb. Really clear information and descriptions. I was left with no doubt that I have Bipolar Disorder Type II. What was transformational was the description of hyomania. I had no idea that hyperactivity included day-to-day work and leisure activities. It was as if another part of the jigsaw puzzle fell into place. It then became clear that my focus needed to be on managing the hypomania. Achieve that and I reduce the risk of a crash. It covered all of my questions (and more) about bipolar disorder and would be very useful for those facing a diagnosis, with a diagnosis, their family members/friends or people working in the field of mental health. Prior to reading this book I spent many hours trawling through Google, reading as much as I could about bipolar disorder. I would have saved a lot of time had I bought this book initially! I've attached photos of the contents. The book provides the reader with an in-depth understanding without being too jargon-y. The exercises and information on how to help manage your bipolar disorder in addition to medication options is very helpful in particular. An excellent book overall.
