Catan: Rise of the Inkas is a standalone game that invites players aged 12 and up to manage civilizations in Peru across three eras. Designed for 3 to 4 players, this game offers a unique twist on classic Catan gameplay, featuring vibrant illustrations and strategic challenges that enhance the gaming experience.

## Description

Long before the ink an (aka “Incan”) empire rose to dominance in Peru, many advanced indigenous cultures developed and declined in the Andean regions of South America. Catan: rise of the ink ASTM confronted you with new strategic challenges as you play. Development works in much the same as the core mechanics of Catan build roads and settlements, gain development cards to give you an advantage, and use the robber to hinder your opponents. However, eventually your early tribe will reach their pinnacle and be supplanted as you start a new era. As you play rise of the ink as, you must twice decline your early tribes to make way for a new tribes era. You remove all your constructed roads from the board and cover your settlements in vines to denote that These may no longer be developed. But your game doesn't end there. When your tribe goes into decline, you place a new settlement on an available board space and continue the game using this new settlement. Timing is an important part of your strategy as you play Catan: rise of the ink as, take advantage of your opponent's settlements in decline to set yourself up to claim victory. Included

**Q: Is this a new version of the Settlers of Catan board game? If not, then please explain what it is. :)**
A: This is the version with wooden figures, if you want to buy the expansions you need the one with plastic figures, because the size of the cards and board pieces is completely different and they do not fit together

A: It means that somebody is messing around with the Amazon catalogue... I'll drop them a line so they can tidy it up!This listing is for Catan (not Pandemic).

**Q: What is the difference between this and the standard version?**
A: The game board in this edition comes in 6 reversible sections instead of the 20+ individual hex tiles in the original. This makes set up quicker and simpler but the possible number of game layouts is more restricted.

This game is awful - its not like the original. Its hard to learn. The outcome of the game is heavily dependent on the dice roll. We've found it to be utterly unbalanced for three players. The rules are cryptic. The online instruction on the company website is not helpful. There are mis-prints on longest road card. There playing cards are half the size of the original ones in catan and are wearing out faster than those in the original. The small cards are really easy to drop. This game is overpriced, has none of the charm of the original and I'm not buying any other Catan products ever again as protest, to show how bad I think this is.
