It would likely split the first time womeone sat on it. It is a contact paper that has a flocked rather than smooth surface. Better to get upholstery fabric and use staples to attach to underside of seat. **Q: Will it cover over old velvet?** A: I don’t know but would be hesitant. I used it on bare wood. You could try it on a small bit and if it doesn’t work, then take off the old. Do you think a sticky backed thick sticker would adhere to the old velvet? If so, them this should also. **Q: Is the royal blue color safe, or is there risk of discoloring light colored wood?** A: We used this for underneath cermanic tiles we wanted to put on our dining room table to protect the surface. The ceramic tiles are being used as trivets. Can't speak to discoloring wood. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ sticky back velvet *by M***E on 13 February 2025* used this to upcycle some old furnature to give it a new lease of life as i was repairing it its very nice and adds an expensive look to it with very little effort very pleased with this its unforgiving if u place it wrong it does need to be precise .. a bonus as it wont come off or move easily as i wanted it permerantly fixed in place ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality self adhesive suede material. *by J***I on 12 April 2024* The self-adhesive suede material was used to cover a purpose built DJ Booth. Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really nice, but hard to apply *by K***K on 12 July 2019* Great liner for wooden/plastic, the adhesion on the back of the velvet is rather strong but is a bit unforgiving if you place it in the wrong place, as lifting it up after it has been stuck down is rather difficult, So I did find the actually installation of thes product to be a bit tricky, So overall I would give it 4/5 ## Frequently Bought Together - Self Adhesive Velvet Flock Backing Paper Liner for Jewelry Drawer Craft Fabric Peel and Stick Black, Soft Velvet Liner for Drawer DIY 17.7" x 117" - Super Z Outlet Black Velvet Ring Trays Accessory Foam Pads for Jewelry Showcase, Storage Displays, Home Organization & Decoration (2 Pack) - Mesheshe 40PCS Self Adhesive Felt, DIY Self Adhesive Fabric for Art & Crafts, Peel and Stick Felt for Drawer/Jewelry Box Felt Liner, A4 Size (8.3" x 11.8", Black) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/94352849-self-adhesive-velvet-flock-liner-for-jewelry-drawer-craft-fabric](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/94352849-self-adhesive-velvet-flock-liner-for-jewelry-drawer-craft-fabric) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
