It will stay on for as long as you’re body or hand is being detected. **Q: How many Lumens? Is it safe to use outdoors?** A: Do not know the lumens, but we have the light installed on 2 outside doors . Works great to find witch key to use, the heat gets up to 105+, no issues. The light works great **Q: will this work if you have a storm door?** A: We attached it to our front door and we have a security door over it. Works great. We got one for our neighbor and put it on her security door. Works great **Q: Is anyone else having an issue with it coming on during the daytime? My front door has an overhang and it seems to think it's nighttime.** A: Yes there seems to be an issue with the "motion" detector feature of these units. Ours will turn on and off for hours, even though it mounted on an inner door that also has a screen door. There is no motion between these doors so a overcast afternoon will set it off, I just remove from the door and turn it off and turn it on and remount when I may be out after dark.
