The taste and texture were excellent.But this latest purchase came with new packaging, including a new banner on the front that said “made with lentils, rice and peas.” I’m not sure whether they changed their formula or just are more honest with the package. But for someone like me that can’t eat wheat OR rice, this is a disappointing revelation. It’s still fine for those with gluten sensitivity. Another lesson in why you need to read the ingredient label carefully. ### ⭐⭐ Strong Smell, Strong taste. Cooking the pasta smelled like burned rubber. It was a nauseating smell. I rinsed the pasta after cooking, and added plenty of sauce to cover up the taste and smell. The burned rubber taste was overwhelming and I threw the rest out. Another customer mentioned the strong taste too. I will be purchasing my Lentil Pasta elsewhere. Their ingredients are only Red Lentils. First of all, it's delicious. It replaces wheat pasta in any meal from penne with tomato sauce to elbows in cheese sauce to mac and cheese. Second, it's vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free, so I can serve it to my friends with food sensitivities and make every one happy. Finally, it's loaded with complete protein! There's so much protein in the pasta, that it doesn't even need protein added.
