Support tried their best! May work in other use cases. *by C***D on Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2018* First of all I want to state that despite the problems with this device, Gofanco support has been simply OUTSTANDING, going above and beyond to try and assist me and get me up and running - even sending me a replacement to test - but unfortunately the box currently has issues that still need to be worked out. They are working on it and have stated they may be able to fix it with an future firmware patch, and I will be sure to update this review when I am able to test it. Its for their stellar service that I am able to give this even three stars for something that really didn't work as it should.When I first got the gofanco PRO-CaptureHD4K, I could not get it to capture anything whatsoever. Drivers would install, but OBS/Skype/manycam etc. would never display a picture. My target to capture was a PS4 Pro. I contacted gofanco support and they were very helpful but could not isolate the problem; I was sent another unit and it had the same issues. After DOZENS of hours testing, I accidentally got something to work because I had misplaced the cable it came with, and instead used the USB Cable from a SIIG Superspeed USB 3.0 to SATA 2.5" enclosure, and had a SNES Classic Edition hooked up to the gofanco box since it was easier for testing. THE USB CABLE INCLUDED DOES NOT WORK! This was tested across at least 7 different PCs running both Windows 7 and Windows 10, using cables from 2 different specimens of this unit. What seems to be happening is that an extra driver (USB Composite Device?) will load when I use the SIIG Hard Drive cable, that does not load when I use the cable that is included. Even when it is working, the options dialog boxes are always grayed out, making troubleshooting the box in general really difficult....But the bad USB cable included was only half of the problem; The gofanco box was only able to capture the SNES Classic Edition, and would not under any resolution be able to display a direct signal from either of my two PS4 Pros, with or without the VR box attached. I later found a workaround where if I connected a Monoprice Blackbird Scaler Box, I would then be able to capture the PS4, but even with that - it would still distort in certain situations (like the home menu page for PS4 Bullet Girls Phantasia, as shown in one of the attached photos). Plus, I shouldn't have to use a $70 scaler box just to get a $150 box to do what it was supposed to do without it.So what does work..? HDMI passthru at 4K does work as expected, even though the PS4 signal won't display thru the PC. The packaging is very nice and professional, build quality is good with a well-made solid metal box - though the edges are very sharp. It comes with a color instruction manual - a rarity these days.I wasn't originally going to write a review till the issue got sorted out, but Amazon's early review incentive is a small justice for all the time I invested trying to get it working - and I wished there had been reviews or information about this device so those problems wouldn't have been so time-costly. Its with that I hope this information can help someone or give them hints on how to get the device working in their use-case. I have used gofanco's 4K HDR splitter with great success - so I know they can make amazing stuff, and have faith that they can someday fix the issues and hopefully I'll be able to capture directly from a PS4 with this box.Pictures:1. The only issue is with the Nintendo Switch - I had an issue where it only works on a dedicated USB port when capturing from the switch and has a video issue sent to the computer, where it fails to properly capture the bottom half of the screen and draws random lines on OBS. Other than that, video loopout works beautifully! ### ⭐ Does not give out 1080p *by T***Z on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2020* Contacted manufacturer and tried the steps they gave but in the end I could not get 1080p video out of this capture card.
