A: According to packet of 2.6 oz of the Demi Glace there is 380mg of sodium in it. Don't know if that helps.

**Q: What kind of a shelf life does this have?**
A: Hi I just checked mine. 2 years . I love it, it gives a steak sauce a zing!!

**Q: is this a powder?**
A: No, it is a thick paste that is reconstituted with water, wine or meat drippings

**Q: Could this be used in place of making a Cabernet reduction sauce ?**
A: This is very good product, it makes a great sauce.  If you would want to use it to replace a cabernet sauce, it would do fine, but you would not get the flavor from the wine reduction.
