I lost one of them.** A: if you mean the teethguard, yes separately. if the ligature insert is you are talking about, I have never seen it sold separately. I would go to home depot or ace´s hardware and have them show me a piece I could buy and insert it. **Q: Is the V-1R only for Hard Rubber mouthpieces or can it go with a plastic one as well like can it work well with the Vandoren 5-RV mouthpiece** A: In my opinion, it should work well with either plastic or hard rubber. I've been very happy with mine, as I like it better than the older models. **Q: Doesn’t Martin frost use this ligature and how does this compare to the vandoren leather?** A: Don't know about Martin. I'm pleased with the Versa ligature but I can't compare it to the vandoren leather. The web fabric ligature has very solid support and the band in front molds to your mouthpiece. I don't know why I didn't get this sooner. As I became more advanced, my tone began to suffer, and it took me this long to realize that it was the cheap-o ligature I had used since 6th grade band. This, paired with 2.5 Vandoren reeds, works very well for me. It produces a nice, full, dark sound while still sounding clean and not fuzzy. Helps a lot with getting the high notes to sound with good tone. This being said, you cannot slap the thing on your mouthpiece straight out of the box. Before you do so, you need to follow the directions in the box. For me, all I had to do was oil the metal parts with cork grease and it was ready to use. I play for about 3 hours each day, so I oiled the metal parts at the beginning of each practice session for about a week. If you don't do this, you'll get a fuzzy, dull sound. Sometimes it's neccessary to oil in the middle of practicing if you have a dull sound.
