Completely designed in 3D modeling software and 100% CNC machined, the press features solid aluminum billet construction, 5 pressing locations, adjustable leveling feet, a 12V DC 3,000psi hydraulic pump with adjustable pop-off valve, a 3.5" x 10" double acting cylinder and a 1/2" thick Lexan blast shield. This press puts out a full 28,800lbs of force and will accommodate the pyro endeavors of nearly 95% of the hobby population. All these features and it only weighs about 160lbs! The 14.4 ton press features a frame opening of 6.25" x 24.25" and will handle 6lb and smaller rockets, all 6" square star plates and comets to 3.5" diameter. In short, everything in the FireSmith catalog is designed to work directly with this press. The 1/2" thick blast shield rides in steel channels on either side of the press. It is easily raised and is held in the "up" position by two stainless spring detents. Because the blast shield is free of holes, it is much stronger than shields held in place with hinges or standoffs. The double acting 3.5" x 10" cylinder has an aluminum pressing shoe to prevent any damage to rammers, pumps and plates. This press also utilizes a quality 3,000psi MTE pump unit with 20' remote control, solenoid valves and an external adjustable relief valve. Press weight is approximately 160lbs.
