Review: Bluer than it looks. - The photos show the dye (mood of blue only applied on the bottom ends of my hair, pravana violet on the upper) as it fades naturally one week at a time. First photo is the day of, second photo is one week after, third photo is 2 weeks after. It doesn't last as long as Pravana. I previously have used direct dye Pravana Violet which turns more reddish purple on my light-brown bleached hair, but I wanted to make my hair or at least the bottom part of my hair less red and more blue tinted violet. I was able to easily achieve that with this Mood Of Blue color. However, it was a lot more of a greenish-blue on my hair, so I did have to actually mix half and half. Half of Pravana Violet, with half of this Mood of Blue, and it gave a nice rich violet/indigo color. Though it turned more blue than purple after washing it out, so that is something to look out for. I am still satisfied since it matches with one of my favorite dresses. But I will try next time to mix in more Pravana Violet, maybe 2/3 or 3/4. Really, my only wish is that it lasted longer. Normally I'm told that blue colors are supposed to stay longer on hair than reds, yet the more reddish purple stays on my hair much longer. Might be maybe Pravana is just more high quality? I don't know, but if you don't mind the shorter time to fade, or like me it's an easy-to-reach location you're dying, it's fine.

Use gloves, cover all surfaces that you don’t want to turn blue, and rinse it out well after applying generously and letting sit for about 20 minutes. One note: our dog got a hold of the bottle and punctured it and got it all over a dark gray ottoman. We quickly cleaned it with warm water and dish soap and it came out. But a few little blue splatters remain on the white painted bathroom cabinet. So be careful!

**Q: My son has dark brown hair, will i have to bleach before use, to see the color?**
A: Yes unfortunately.  If you wish to bleach, be sure to use a blue bleach powder, and only a 20 developer. This will keep the bleach from frying the hair. Keep in for 5 mins at a time at a max time of 15 min and check on it every 5 mins.  Let hair rest overnight with some repair treatment to allow the cuticle to heal before treating it with the dye. It’s a hell of a process but this dye worked quite well. Honestly my favorite brand is called “ion” which can be found at your local beauty supply store. Hope this helps in detail. Lol

**Q: Is this better than the Fanciful 'ultra white minx'?**
A: I've never tried the brand you mention,  this worked pretty good,  but I too am always keeping my eyes open for a good whitener...

**Q: I dye my hair red, can I use this and mix it in with my conditioner or shampoo to help maintain the color?**
A: I mix it with my color extension conditioner and it works great, I shampoo & condition itidiob every 3rd day … dry shampoo in between…

A: Lavar, aclarar y secar el cabello. Vierta la cantidad deseada de Color X-Change Hair Color en un recipiente no metálico. Con las manos enguantadas, aplique directamente sobre el cabello con un cepillo o peine para tinte, luego masajee el cabello desde la raíz hasta las puntas, evitando el cuero cabelludo, para asegurar una distribución uniforme. Procese durante 10-20 minutos. Puede usarse calor para obtener un color más intenso y más duradero. Enjuague el cabello con agua fría lejos de la cara y el cuerpo hasta que el agua salga casi clara.

### ⭐⭐⭐ The depth of color does not last long.

First I want to say that I was covering gray hair. If one bleaches hair it might last longer. The product did turn my gray a strong bold blue. Looks just like the bottle after first wash. Faded quicker than another product I previously used. I used shampoo for colored hair without sulfates. Not adverse to it being Much lighter and less dramatic in color and expected some fade. Just surprised that having leaving it on my hair 3 times longer than directions, the color faded quickly. I would say if one orders this product, go for a bit more color than you want and if it does not fade as quickly as you can tolerate, wash it several times in a row and that should do it. Rather than going for a more gentle color and hoping that color will last a while. Maybe my hair is different than some. I have fine hair.
