Extremely difficult to install in 2017 Nissan Titan XD with factory halogen lamps
Installation required complete removal of the headlamp assemblies which required the removal of the front grille, the upper bumper trim, partial removal of wheelwell covers, and finally the headlamp assemblies themselves. The retaining tabs on the Heise bulbs were not exact duplicates of the factory halogen bulbs. There are three tabs on the factory bulbs with one of them being noticeably larger than the other two. The tabs on the Heise bulbs were nearly all the same size and the sealing gasket was about twice as thick as the sealing gasket on the factory halogen bulbs. The thick gasket made installation of the headlamp virtually impossible without completely removing the headlamps so that you could apply the amount of force necessary for installation. The lack of a clearly larger alignment tab, coupled with the fact that one of the H-11 low beam headlamps required chamfering of both the bulb retaining ring and the headlamp socket before it could be successfully installed in the headlamp receptacle---even with the headlamp completely removed.I purchased Heise LED bulbs to replace the high beams, low beams, and fog lamps. Before I completely removed the headlamp assemblies, I was unable to install any of these bulbs. After completely removing both headlamps---and using a Dremel tool on one of the low-beam bulbs and its matching headlamp assembly---I was eventually able to successfully install all of the bulbs. Headlight removal exposed the foglamps which allowed me to obtain the leverage required for installation. The reason I bought the Heise bulbs was because a local installer used them exclusively. I asked the installer how much he would charge to install the bulbs for me and he stated that he too would have to modify the headlamp assemblies and quoted me a installation rate of nearly $200.00 for the two hours of labor required for the install. One other note of interest is that the bulbs are supposed to be "adjustable" and have a small allen nut which is used to hold the adjustment. There is a small allen wrench included with the kit but it does not fit the allen nut.All lights worked after installation and I am praying that they will continue to work for as long as I own this vehicle...
