I'm trying to put up with the smell because this does whiten better than other products I've tried, but the smell is absolutely vile. As others have written, it also can't be washed out. After using this in the initial wash, I tried soaking the laundry in a vinegar solution, rewashing with another detergent, and then adding an extra rinse, but it was all a waste of time and effort. For context, I prefer unscented products when possible and I don't use mass market/non-organic detergents because the fragrances are so fake and overpowering. **Q: do you have to use hot water?** A: I use hot water for whites. The directions say use the warmest water recommended for the type of fabric you are washing. Do not use on wool or silk. **Q: Can i use this with dark color laundry as well?** A: I use it with dark clothes that have light and white colored patterns on them, they work amazingly. I don’t use them for my solid dark clothes, as I don’t see a point in “white-revive” for them, but based on my results with my clothes that are mixed coloring, I don’t think they would harm them in any way.
