(Dry Pants) I have a mist spray bottle to get the waist band damp but haven't used it yet. Hope this helps. I have a skirt with an elastic band that is just a little too tight** A: Hard to say as I only use for cotton jeans and chinos. It will be sturdy enough for elastic. Cotton takes pounds of pressure to stretch and I use a little white vinegar to soften the fibers and go really slow. Elastic would take very little to stretch it, re. pounds of pressure, I would think. **Q: Will this work for leggings that have shrunk in the dryer? Happy with purchase.I leave it in for 2-3 days, don't rush stretching or over tighten. I'll get it stretching somewhat tight, then let it sit overnight and then after it stretches pants out a bit go tighten it a little more, repeat a few times til you hopefully get desired stretch. Or you could just lose weight, LOL. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost Works Too Good! *by B***B on April 28, 2022* Bought this to stretch out some jean shorts. I like the fit of a size 32 with the exception of the waist, and I find a size 34 too baggy and loose in the waist. And they don't make a size 33....so what to do? Stretch the 32's! Now before I started I put a small amount of grease on the threads of the rods, as some have reported stripping threads. Why the center turnbuckle wasn't made of steel instead of aluminum is mind-boggling......but it is what it is. Next I thoroughly sprayed the waist of the shorts, both inside and out, with water from a spray bottle....put a "C" clamp right next to the button to keep the buttonhole from getting stretched and not the jeans, and installed the stretcher and set them in the sun to dry. Because denim is a tough material I'd go out and give it another half turn every half hour or so, because you can't tell how far you're stretching something while the process is going on and the material does relax. I left them to dry overnight and tried them on this morning.......and they're a tiny bit overstretched! That's why I say it can work almost too good. But shrinking them down a bit is easy, so no problem. With more fragile materials I'd be a bit careful when stretching, as you won't know you've gone too far until you hear something rip or tear. Use common sense and you'll be fine. I obviously can't speak to long term durability, but seeing how it's made I can now make my own beefier version if need be, and fix the aluminum turnbuckle mistake as well. But......it did what it claimed to do, was easy to use, and I'm a happy camper! So far. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wish it closed down smaller *by M***� on March 24, 2025* It works, I like it but I wish I could close it smaller, sometimes I'm a little afraid I'm going to rip my clothes trying to get it around this.
