The inside of the mug and lid are both thread in which is a nice added feature. Furthermore, the lid comes with a thick silicone O-ring to prevent leaks as well.Final Thoughts: I think this mug is great in terms of how well made it is along with the added feature of a screw-on lid, so far this seems to be the only one that has this specific design that I could find, Overall this is an awesome mug. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Mug! *by E***. on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2019* I liked the weight and size of this cup. I drink coffee twice a day and I find that this mug keeps my coffee nice and hot. I gave this Mug five stars based on the Amazon description. I do have one concern (not a complaint), I have a Tumbler that was given to me by my Lexus Salesman upon leasing my RX. The Lexus Tumbler is comparable in price and keeps my coffee hot for extended periods of time, just like yours. I use it whenever I'm on the go with coffee cup in hand. However, as depicted in the pictures the Lexus top has a little opening which is covered by a lid. Wouldn't it be agood idea to have a little so as to drink from the Mug while the lid is securely on the Mug? Whenever you're not drinking from the Mug you can close the lid. It's such a quality product that it's a shame it doesn't have one. It wouldn't be a bad idea if you offered existing customers that purchased this mug a modified top that allows one to sip coffee or tea and seal it with a small cap. It's just a thought. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It's ok but... *by D***P on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2020* Ordered this to replace a thermos cup I've used daily since 2003. The wide bottom, screw on lid and doubled walled steel appealed to me. I got it in and love it's simple sturdy design and that the wide bottom made it almost tip proof on my desk, (the one time I accidentally knocked it over nothing came out. I noticed right away it does NOT hold anywhere close to 18 oz, in fact, a 12 oz can of soda, (without ice), filled it right up to the bottom of the lid with little room left over. Ok, I can live with that as more trips to refill wasn't a bad trade off for the wide bottom, steel material, and screw on lid features. The lid quickly became both a blessing, and a curse. While it did seal the cup so that it didn't leak if you knocked it over and kept the contents hot to warm for a few hours, (not sure exactly how long as I always finished the coffee before it had a chance to get cool), the lid made it a royal pain to drink the coffee, (or soda) because you have to unscrew and remove the lid every time you want to take a sip which is a hassle if you're driving. and sometimes condensation formed inside the cup lid which would drip on your clothes when you removed it to take a sip. There were also a couple of times when I spilled some coffee out of the cup while trying to put the lid back on while stopped at a red light, so not a good cup for driving. Because I did like the feel of the cup in my hand and the sturdiness of it I "Macguyvered" it. I first drilled two side by side quarter inch holes on one side of the lid, and then one eighth inch hole directly across the lid on the other side to break the vacuum and allow coffee to flow out smoothly without slashing or gurgling out because of no air vent. Once I did that I was able to use it as a travel mug in the car and drink coffee without having to remove the lid each time. And because of the lids design with a spline down the center of the lid with lower "valleys" on either side, I was able to drill the holes at the edge of the lid which allows me to sip coffee without spilling anything. The small amount this has compromised the "spill proof" nature of the cup hasn't really affected the length of time the coffee stays hot to warm before I finish a cup and the wide bottom still makes it hard to knock the cup over. So if I were going to make any modifications, (at the factory rather than Macguyvering it), I would make the volume a true 20 to 24 oz cup, and then add a built in drinking opening that can be accessed without having to remove the lid, along with a small vent to allow the drink to flow smoothly out.
