I know the manufacturer answered otherwise but 5Gbps can only happen in a 9pined connection. **Q: can it transmit video from a USB C webcam?** A: You should be able to connect a USB-C webcam through the adapter to use with the computer, as long as the WebCam does not have a high power requirement. **Q: Can i connect my type-c soundcard to my old pc which only can support usb-2 and usb-3 with this adapter ?** A: As long as the sound card is USB 3, then it will work with the soundcard. Two pins are used for power and two pins are used for differential data transmission. If you look carefully at the connector you will see that the pins for the power connection (pin 1 and 4) are slightly longer. This is done on purpose to first connect the power supply when connecting a USB device, and only afterwards establish the data connection. With this sequence the chance that the driver or receiver ports of the data connection receive awkward and possible dangerous voltages is lowered substantially.
