This 5 wire system is ready to go except for the connector to mate to your trailer of choice. Plenty of zip ties will keep it secure and off the ground. Review: Quality product. - Good quality wire harness. Instructions were very clear and concise. Other than my first time learning curve removing some parts. All went well. Worked out fine on first try. Review: Not the best installation manual - My machine is a 2021 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited. The most difficult part of the install was understanding the pictures (shows what area of the machine and what screws to remove) associated with the written instructions. It is hard to decipher what part of the machine you are to be working on due to terrible photo quality. A bit of patience (not one of my virtues) and a bit of common sense (much better than my patience) and in about 3 to 4 hours, a bit of cursing, and a few cuts and abrasions later, it will be finished. I should also mention that the plastic screws and anchors strip very easily, so be prepared to improvise, adapt, and overcome some obstacles. One more note. I installed mine only to discover it was designed for a 5 wire plug (not included) and my trailer is a 4 wire, so i needed a converter as well. After the harness install, I left the trailer harness' battery leads unhooked since the 5 output wires were exposed and I didn't have the converter yet. I took the machine for a ride and discovered that without the trailer harness under power, my cruise control would not work and my brake lights flashed when I activated the turn signals. All was good once the converter was installed. We had two OME wiring harnesses fail. One within days on the first trip. The warranty unit was dead on arrival. Ordered this! It does require removing some panels for access, but this unit is solid. We have had no problems with this on a 2500-mile trip.
