Standard gymnastics height for the low uneven bar is 5 ft 6 in. You might want to also think about where you're putting the bar and if anyone is going to run into it at night, in which case you may want it higher to avoid someone hurting themselves by running their head or neck into it. **Q: How do you install these outside?** A: Yes, it is meant for outdoor use. You need to dig it into the ground and stabilize with concrete. I don’t think you can even set it up indoors. **Q: What is the cross bar made of? Wood?** A: This is made of fiberglass with a synthetic wood covering **Q: Does it have the flexible give/bounce that gymnastics bars typically have?** A: It’s not as flexible as a pro bar in the gym. The company ships extremely quickly. I was really excited that my shipment came 3 days early.Bad news. I had an issue, and customer service doesn't respond (at least so far) to messages through their website or via direct email.They changed their ad right after I bookmarked it to reflect a shorter cross bar (rail), 51" vs the 59" it said just a couple of days prior. I read the description thoroughly, figured out where I'd put it and considered whether I wanted this one or another one. I didn't know the description on my bookmarked item changed (seemingly just the one digit in the one figure, not the rest of the text) and even the directions said to space the holes 59" apart. I was little surprised by the length of the rail, but figured the connecting poles might add back some length. I went to look at reviews first and that's when I saw that the measurement changed.Other info: I haven't installed it. My initial impression was that it seemed like a decent bar set-up, though the fabric embedded in the fiberglass to give a "wood look" is more of a beige linen look, and the white showed through where it wasn't wrapped entirely. It looked shiny like it was wrapped in saran wrap but I can't say what it would feel like swinging on it. I imagine it functions just fine. I went with this option over another because I figured the fiberglass wouldn't feel too hot or too cold like metal would, plus fiberglass has a bounce that typical metal outdoor bars don't. There was a bit of surface rust inside the poles, but I think that is probably not a defect.I reached out to Z Athletic through their website last Wednesday & via email last Thursday, waited Friday and Monday for a response, but so far, nothing--not even an automated confirmation email. It makes me wonder what good is a 2 year warranty.
