**Q: Does it use filters?**
A: It comes with a HEPA filter.  This is the filter it uses: http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-Hand-Media-Filter-97D5/dp/B004152MH4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378149811&sr=8-1&keywords=bissell+pet+eraser+filter.  So far, it's been very easy to just clean off.  I suppose it will last a couple of years before I need to replace it.

**Q: Will it pick up anything besides hair?**
A: If you try to suck something (like dog hair) on a wood floor, the Bissell just blows the hair around the room.  It only seemed to work well on a carpet.

**Q: They seem to just blow away the stuff I am trying to suction up. Any solution?**
A: Have been using the vac for about a month and LOVE it - perhaps yours has a small crack or seal is defective. I would send it back for a new one. Definitely have not experienced that issue and my dog is a super-shedder. Sorry you're not getting good results from it! Definitely try again.... I think it is worth it. I wish I had found this item years ago.

**Q: We agree with others about the poor vent design, now does it have any better solution to figure out?**
A: I read the comment and knew to put two plastic side covers (KeeTidy Wind Ear) on the vents to re-direct the air. They say they can work well.

Using for 4 years now. The product is good but some further improvements needed for India:1. Provide an adapter from 230V to 110V2. The exhaust air should have a chute so that it does not disturb the dust/per hair3. A brush, roller hear should be provided so that loose pet hair can be extracted and then suckedDespite these shortcomings, this is the best product I have seen for Pet hair.

Brand new opened it out of box and tried to use it . It was extremely loud and didn’t suck any of the hair, immediately after it made explosive sounds and I had internal debris of the machine floating around in the catchment.
