The author breaks everything down into simple, bite-sized lessons that work perfectly in a no-pressure environment. She also includes some interesting stories about French culture, as well as ideas for fun activities and links for further study.The sole reason I couldn't give this book 5 stars is in the execution. This book desperately needed a better editor. The French is occasionally sloppy, at one point confusing formal with familiar phrasing, and the pronunciation guides can be hit or miss, sometimes contradicting themselves. There was at least one grammatical error in English, as well.
