It even comes with a bag!This mat is definitely met that expectation. it is very compact when folded. we already have the thicker type mat that is not foldable for the more permanent play area. this mat goes where by newborn goes. When i don't need it to be fully opened (ie for a smaller coverage area), i leave it folded to provide a bit more support/protection. Though the material is softer, i didn't have any issues with breakage/scratches, etc. My toddler and newborn have been playing on it. It is just as easy to clean as the other types of mat. I just wiped it down with clorox wipes every once in awhile to sanitize it.
