Ended up returning the day of purchase, didn't even want to try to use this for real after just messing with it for a while.The Outemu Browns are nothing like Cherry MX Browns, like at all. There is next to no feedback on the keypress besides a slight resistance halfway through. The keys are immensely noisy and not in a good way. Call it "clacky" rather than "clicky". Keypresses felt hollow and springy, as well as having a spring reverb sound on some. Spacebar was obnoxiously loud and disgusting sounding, probably 3x louder than the already loud keys. Some keys would stick and needed some mashing to unstick, and some buttons would squeak like a mouse when pressed.The keys are not backlit despite the board clearly being made to house lighting (there is a white backplate meant to reflect the light better under the keys and the letters and numbers were transparent to let light through, making them impossible to read in normal settings). So the keys were unreadable with the only symbols visible being the secondary functions painted on in white.Other than that, it had a lot of great features and is one of the only true mechanical keyboards that is appropriate for an office setting out there. Shame it's... bad.Pros:- Looks good for professional settings- Nice extra features for gaming and macros, etc.- Build quality was "fine"Cons:- Squeaky and sticky keys- Hollow and non-tactile response from keypresses- Very loud without any satisfaction from use- Obnoxiously loud spacebar and keys- No backlighting (on a board that was designed for lighting) making the clear lettering unreadable- Overall just not great value for $40. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well worth it *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2019* I wanted to try a mechanical keyboard after hearing a lot about them but didn't want to pay much for one since I may not like it. I also needed a low profile keyboard since I do not have much workspace for useless ergonomical wristpads or additional media buttons.After using their very high quality HDMI cables, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Monoprice offered their own mechanical keyboards that was just a keyboard with no additional "features." It fits perfectly into my workspace and is much heavier than my previous keyboards (a vintage Memorex multimedia keyboard and a Logitech gaming keyboard).It is very satisfying with a loud, but not too loud, clicky keystroke. Typing is no longer a chore with my previous stiff membrane keyboards, and I kind of look forward to it now.Some features this keyboard has but was not mentioned in the description is that it uses brown Outemu switches, which are also anti-ghosting. The keyboard does not have lights (which does not bother me since I do not want to pay extra for lights). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really good value and work friendly *by A***X on Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2019* I have been using cherry mx blue switches for a long time and also have other knockoff blue switches. I've moved offices and now they are a little to loud. Switching to this keyboard the noise level is much better, but it still feels very nice.The one I ordered did not come with the lights behind the keys and some may complain that the key caps are hard to read. I never really look down very much so this isn't an issue for me.I would have given this 5 stars overall, but the space key is a little squeaky. I think this can easily be fixed with some graphite or something like that.
